Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.

Stir flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl. Stir in buttermilk, butter and egg; mix well. Stir in raisins.

Knead several times on a lightly floured board and shape into a ball. Arrange on prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.

Slash an X in the top and bake for 50 to 55 minutes, until golden and skewer inserted near center comes away clean.
