Pears and Walnuts Crumble

Here's a mouth-watering recipe that's delicious at any time of day: breakfast, snack and dessert. So why deprive yourself!

Ingredients

    • ½ cup
      U.S. pecans
    • ½ cup
      U.S. walnuts
    • 8
      U.S. pears
    • 1 cup
      rolled oats
    • ½ cup
      brown sugar
    • ½ cup
      flour
    • ½ cup
      butter + 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 teaspoon
      cinnamon
    • ¼ cup
      maple syrup
    • 1 pinch
      sea salt

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
    2. Peel and cube the pears. In a hot frying pan, add the tablespoon of butter and allow to melt. Add the pears, salt and half the maple syrup. Cook for a few minutes, then set aside.
    3. In a bowl, add the oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter. Mix well. Set aside.
    4. Chop pecans and walnuts coarsely. In a hot skillet, lightly caramelize walnuts with remaining maple syrup. Set aside.
    5. Arrange pears evenly in an ovenproof dish. Add crumble mixture on top. Then add the walnut mixture. Bake until hot and crisp, about 25 to 30 minutes.
