Medjool Date Scones

2 cupsall-purpose flour

1 tbspbaking powder

½ tspsalt

¼ cupcold butter, cubed

1/3 cupsugar

1 cupMedjool dates, pitted and chopped

½ cupmilk, or almond milk for a dairy-free option

1egg (for brushing the tops, optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in sugar and chopped Medjool dates.

Slowly add milk, mixing until a dough forms.

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times.

Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut into triangles or rounds.

Place on a lined baking sheet, brush with egg (optional), and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
