  • 8 Bars

Want a decadent yet healthy no-bake treat recipe that’s delicious and easy to make? Then you need to try these Hazelnut Chocolate Bars. Using only 5 ingredients, these bars are packed with U.S. grown Medjool dates and U.S. hazelnuts.

Ingredients

    • 1 ½ cups
      roasted U.S. hazelnuts
    • 1 ½ cups
      pitted U.S. Medjool dates, chopped
    • 1 - 4 - ⅓ cup
      cup cacao powder
    • 2 - 3 tsp
      teaspoons water
    • 2 cups
      dark chocolate chips
    • 1 ½ tsp
      coconut oil

Instructions

    1. Finely grind the hazelnuts in a food processor and set some aisde for later. Add the dates and cacao. Process until the dates are broken down. Add the water starting with 2 teaspoons and adding more to achieve a moist dough that holds together when pressed in your hand.

    2. Press into a 9x5” bread pan (use all of the pan for a thin bar or less of the pan for a thicker bar). Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours and then slice into bars.

    3. Place into the freezer while preparing the chocolate.

    4. Add the chocolate and oil to a heatproof bowl set over a pot of hot water. Slow melt over low heat, stirring often.

    5. Place a bar into the chocolate. Once coated, use a fork to transfer onto a parchment paper lined tray.

    6. Garnish with extra hazelnuts or cacao nibs. Place into the fridge for at least 20 minutes to firm up. Store in the fridge for 7 days or freeze for 2 months.
