Apple Frappé

Celebrate the holidays with this delectable beverage. 

Ingredients

  • Frappé

    • 3
      Golden Delicious apples, or any variety of your choice
    • 1
      can evaporated milk, 12 oz/354 mL
    • 1
      can sweetened condensed milk, 5 oz/147 mL
    • 3 oz
      (90 mL) rum, brandy, hard cider (or regular cider for non-alcoholic version)
    • Vanilla ice cream, to thicken
  • Apple Cups

    • Four large apples of your favourite variety
    • Juice of one lemon
    • 4
      Maraschino cherries for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Frappé

    1. Wash, peel, core and cut the apples into quarters. Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend with enough ice cream to obtain desired thickness.
  2. Apple Cups

    1. Cut the tops off of 4 large apples. Hollow out the inside, leaving a ½ inch (1 cm) thick shell.
    2. Brush the inside with lemon juice to prevent browning. Pour frappé into apple cups, garnish each with a maraschino cherry (optional) and serve immediately.
